Fine Quality mid Victorian Davenport writing desk circa 1850 . The desk is the desirable pop top davenport with rising top (fully working ) to reveal a wonderful fretwork stationary storage compartment which is released with a secret button . The piano shaped top lifts to reveal a slide out writing surface that has storage underneath and can also be set at an angle if required ,there is a working lock and key for the top . to the right side there are four graduating mahogany lined drawers all sliding nice and smooth as they should . The back of the desk has been finished allowing for free standing . the whole standing turned bun feet with hidden castors .
