A superb early 19th century Regency rosewood console table of elegant proportions, dating to around 1820. This versatile piece features a beautifully figured rosewood top with a classic turnover mechanism, allowing it to transform effortlessly from a refined console table into a practical tea or card table.
The rectangular top sits above a frieze with finely carved scrolling corbels, all raised on a bold central pedestal support. The column flows down to a concave platform base terminating in beautifully carved scroll feet with original castors, making it easy to move when entertaining.
Richly toned rosewood with excellent grain and a deep, warm patina throughout, showcasing the quality craftsmanship typical of the Regency period. The proportions are graceful and balanced, making it ideal for a hallway, drawing room, or sitting room.
